Privacy by Design

At AetherCoin, we build technologies under the absolute conviction that privacy is a non-negotiable human right. The AEC wallet operates entirely client-side, giving you total data ownership.

Because AetherCoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer open-source software project, there is no centralized database, corporate server, or cloud storage monitoring your activities. Your identity remains entirely detached from your assets, offering you the privacy you deserve.

Key Privacy Pillars

We designed the AetherCoin wallet application to ensure your security and absolute control over your digital footprint:

No Personal Data Collection

We never collect your email address, phone number, physical address, IP logs, or government-issued IDs. You are free to initialize and run the wallet anonymously.

Decentralized Storage

Your private keys, BIP39 mnemonic phrases, and encrypted wallet database are stored locally on your physical device. No server possesses a backup of your secrets.

Peer-to-Peer Anonymity

Transactions connect directly to other nodes without proxy servers. Our wallet design limits fingerprinting, preserving your IP address privacy.

Zero Web Tracking

The dashboard and wallet application do not load Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies, shielding your device from behavioral trackers.

Blockchain Transparency Notice

While the AetherCoin software does not collect your data, the underlying blockchain protocol operates on a transparent, public ledger. All transactions are permanently recorded:

When you broadcast a transaction on the AEC network, the sender address, recipient address, and transfer amount are written into a public block. Anyone can view these details using an open-source block explorer. This pseudonymous nature means that while your real-world identity is not tied directly to your cryptographic keys, your transaction history is permanently and publicly auditable. You are encouraged to use network best practices to ensure your own operational security.

Third-Party Services

If you connect to third-party services—including centralized exchanges, node APIs, merchant payment gateways, or hardware wallets—they may execute data collection policies that differ from ours. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy terms of any third-party services you choose to integrate with your AetherCoin wallet.
